This is a wide open, high-ceiling diner; clean, friendly and efficient. They serve the neighborhood clientele all-day breakfast options, as well as lunch and dinner options. I came in for a meeting and found comfortable booth seating. I ordered a Chicken Gyro Pita Sandwich with Coleslaw (about $10.50). The pita sandwich was BIG and flavorful. The coleslaw was creamy. I'd return here without reservation. Note: complimentary parking is onsite.
We get carryout from Alex's often. It has always been great. You get a lot of food for the price that you would pay. In addition the food is very tasty. We usually get the Whitefish and Spinach Pie dinners. They come with 2 sides and salad. When I would pick our order up it is always ready. The service I received was excellent. The restaurant's appearance is great. We continue to get for from Alex's.
Been eating here since 2015. Got us through the pandemic with being able to order pick-up. Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner - it's all very good. Reminds me of the all-night diners I grew up on in Long Island, NY.
I really love a good diner, so it was fun to check out Alex's while in the area recently before heading to the Lions game. Our group of six people arrived around 10 am on a Sunday and got seated right away in a big circle booth. Service was a little slow but they were busy, and we weren't in much of a rush. Everyone ordered something different, and I was excited to try the original breakfast skillet: bacon, sausage, ham, onions, green peppers, potatoes, two eggs, and cheese. It also comes with your choice of toast. Nate got the Greek skillet which was pretty good, but I preferred the original breakfast skillet a bit more. The eggs were cooked perfectly to order, and the portions were generous. I was super hungry so I ate the whole skillet, but I definitely could have split it. We asked for separate checks but our server didn't seem super thrilled about it. We ended up just splitting it evenly three ways which hopefully was a bit easier for her. A nice traditional diner with a huge menu and tons of options for lunch, dinner, and all day breakfast. I'd come back if in the area again.
